A great niche to search for if you happen to be on the coast is being an interpreter on cruise ships. Yes, I realize that the Carnival line has had a bad rap lately, but I’ve been on them and I did really enjoy being a passenger. The Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing attend in groups and require multiple interpreters for about a week at a time. It seems to be a wonderful way to get away, meet new deaf people, and get paid while you’re at it!
